A plane the DoD likes to retire every other decade, at least till the next war pops up. Then they bring these beasts back to provide overkill levels of CAS. Sure, JDAMs can do the job. But JDAMs fired from a Warthog while it is also sending depleted uranium downrange is hard to beat, for sheer lolz.

The sound of it firing is enough reason to never end up at the wrong end of it.

Now that the F-35 is draining the Pentagon dry, I think the Warthog is dead for real this time.

The A-10, the plane that embodies the idea of doing one thing and doing it well...
It's tough, reliable, simple, and cheap; I can't see a good reason to NOT keep it around... Oh yeah, every dollar spent on it is a dollar that can be burned, I mean spent on the fiscal black hole known as the F-35.

Canada should buy all of them.
Lets not let them go to waste.
